Millennial Grey

Authored by: Annalissia Padilla

Millennial grey is a phenomenon that needs to be studied.

The misnomer on its own I could write a paper on.

Millennials do not like the color grey, nor did we pick it. It was given to us in a color pallet of grey+yellow (specifically with a chevron pattern) in the 2010s but that was marketing executives that picked that and it was only mildly cute and only lasted in popularity for a few seasons.

Quickly everything after in home decor became “millennial grey”, except millennials couldn’t afford property and we still can’t and yet every available house or commercial space is doused in the most dreary grey color and not only is it depressing, it’s incorrectly attributed to millennials when the culprits are actually Gen X-ers who some how lived the hay day of the 70s, 80s and 90s full of color and when it was time to pass property over, they erased all evidence of culture or time period from it. 😩 😭

We now live in a failing industrial hell scape where everything is grey.
